WOW! What a week!

Wow.....thats all I can really say. This week has been the busiest in the Companys history. Me and Rob have been putting in the hours to try and keep up with demand at the moment and we are just about managing it.....just! Phew.

While ive got a mo im going to tell you about what will be HOT this Xmas! The HPI Baja 5B SS is going to be massive (no joke intended as the size of this buggy really is something else!). We have over 20 on pre order at the mo and to be honest im getting a bit worried where on earth we are going to put them all! Sure I can find somewhere!

The Traxxas line of cars are really selling well at the mo and we are getting excited about the shop project Rustler VXL brushless creation! This baby is going to be astonishingly fast!

Anyways, got to go as we have a competition for a prize draw for our Xmas December orders - so dont miss out of that!

Saturday.....

Well, im sat here with a cup of coffee at the mo having two moniutes break from the madness that is Saturday! Usually on Staurday we get the engine tune ups and the like in. We have a car park next to the shop where we can run cars on a Saturday, this is great for setting engines up as (no matter what any local model shop tells you) you can't properly set an engine up on a shop doorstep. Many variables affect the tune of an engine, and an engine that runs fine under no load can often suck air when under load (as when running on the ground). This car park lets us set engines up to their maximum capability whilst still being sure that the customer will be able to start and stop his car with ease. We also don't charge for engine tuning - because at the end of the day - RC should be fun, and a good running engine will make it all the more fun....plus, tuning engines all the time keeps us in good practice!

Might be something to think about before you next get your engine tuned by the local model shop!

Well, its hectic today, lots of folk looking to buy for Xmas, and to be honest - I enjoy Saturday. All too often I am in the back running the business side of things and Saturday allows me to get out and play with cars and chat to folk!

Anyways, got to go but if you need any advice on engine tuning - drop us a line at Ben Racing.

Midweek......why me?

Whew...what a day! If i was worried that Xmas was going to be a bit slow this year I needent have! Today has been absolutely manic! The action is hotting up between the Traxxas Revo 3.3 RTR and the HPI Savage X 4.6. But there has laso been a good mix of stuf sold today - a couple of race kits, the usual monster trucks and a drift car or two for good measure!

Then spent an hour on the phone to Dell regarding my Laptop which seems determined to P*ss me off to the end of my patience! I tell you - this laptop is going to learn to fly any day now! :-)

What am i going to do tonight - sit down (calm down about my lap top!), put my feet up and watch Heroes! Yeah, sad I know but it's just getting good! I think Hiro Nakamura is my favourite character, he is just comedy! Clueless with special powers! A bit like me but without the special powers bit!

Long time no speak....

Well, sorry for the drop off in blogs for the last few months.....no excuse really - just been a bit rubbish!

Well, i'm back now and ready to get on with boring you with my RC life. The summer months have been a bit quiet for me - a bit of racing but mainly working in the shop - building the range of products that we carry and making sure we have the lowest prices.

A lot of people (mainly other model shops) complain that we offer low prices. I never under stand why this is - if the lower price offers a better deal to the end consumer with still enough money being made to build the business, then why not lower the prices? In the end more people will be able to afford to get into the hobby which is better for everyone. Can't quite seen other peoples logic at times!

The last couple of months have been the months of the monster trucks! The Traxxas T-Maxx 3.3 RTR has been flying off the shelves and it's not hard to see why - rugged construction, two speed gearbox and also forward and reverse as standard leaves not a lot to be desired. Just on stock is the Traxxas Rustler VXL truck - this is a Lipo powered brushless affair that can top 70 MPH! Not so long ago the world record for electric cars was only around the 100mph mark! Insanity!

Since I last published - Rob who works for me has become a Dad. Him and his Missus have had a little boy and called him Finn. Rob now spends more time at work than ever trying to avoid changing nappies! heh heh.... Finn has not learnt how to hold a transmitter yet, but knowing Rob it wont be long!

Anyways, got to go and do some work, but i'll be back more often now with more goings on and gossip!

See ya later!
