2012 Rules, Scoring, Payouts & Points

Rules:

1.     The fee is $20 per entry.

2.     You must pick a total of 12 drivers.  2 drivers from each of the first three brackets and 3 from each of the last two brackets.  These will be your drivers for the entire season.

3.     Points are awarded according to what position each driver finishes each week.

4.     People with the highest number of points receive position payouts at the end of the season.

5.     Once the season has started NO ONE is allowed to change drivers even if the driver dies.

6.     All participants must be paid by the start of the season (Green flag at Daytona) otherwise you will be dropped out of the pool.  All registrations must be postmarked by February 25, 2012, and received by us by March 3, 2012.

7.     All money collected will be paid out through the season with the exception of .75¢ per entry to cover expenses.

8.     In the event of a tie in the final standings the prize will have two spots combined and then split.  Example:  1^st = $100 and 2^nd = $80 then $180 will be split between the two positions.

9.     PLEASE NOTE:  not all people listed on our driver sheet race every race.  The list of drivers is created from the points standings from last year.  The only drivers listed are those that drove at least one race last year – there will be no add-ons.   Everyone is responsible for doing their own research on their drivers.  So if you pick someone that may not have a ride all season (or at all) and the season has already started, please re-read rule 5.

10.  We are not responsible for incomplete driver sheets; it is up to you to make sure that you have the correct amount of drivers from each bracket.  For every driver not chosen you will receive 0 points each week.

11.  Weekly stats will be compiled as soon as possible.  Stats will be posted to www.benracing.blogspot.com as soon as they are official and processed.  If there is a problem with the website, we will e-mail stats to you.  

Scoring:

1.     Drivers will receive the same points NASCAR awards with the exception of First place getting 50 points and Second place getting 45 points (complete points list below). 

2.     5 bonus points will be awarded to the driver with the first pole position.

3.     Every driver that leads at least one lap will receive 1 point; the driver leading the most laps will get 5 points.

Payouts:

1.     The pool is based on the number of people that enter.  The more entries we have the more there will be to pay out – so pass the word. 

2.     Payouts will be to the top 15% in the pool (400 people in the pool – top 60 will get pay out).  We will e-mail the number of payouts and amounts within a few weeks of the start of the season.

3.     There will be a weekly payout for the person that has the highest amount of points each week.  In the event of a two way tie, the weekly pot will be split by the winners.  If there are 3 or more winners the money will be carried over to the next week. 

4.     Middle of the Pack–Get Your Money Back.  Finish in the exact middle of the pack at year end and you get your $20 back.  Example:  if there are 400 teams, whoever finishes in 200^th place at the end of the season will get a $20 payout.

5.      All payouts will be made at the end of the season.

Points:

Drivers are awarded the following points for their finishing position as well as bonus points for winning the pole, leading a lap and most laps lead.  The points for each driver are added up giving each team their weekly score.

Welcome to the 2012 BenRacing Nascar Pool

Welcome to our new BenRacing Blog.  We are hoping to get the weekly stats out to everyone faster and more efficiently through this website.  If this works - it will be a huge time saver for me.  So hope you will be open to this new fangled way of getting your weekly results!  We are going to try this and if it doesn't work as great as we think it will, then we will go back to the emails.
