Matt Kenseth's Penalties

We have had a few questions regarding the penalities assessed to Matt Kenseth by NASCAR.   Here is our answer to those questions.

Nascar's penalty for Kenseth is:  Driver Matt Kenseth has lost 50 championship driver points; the Coors Light Pole award from April 19 at Kansas Speedway will not be allowed for eligibility into the 2014 Sprint Unlimited; the first place finish from April 21 at Kansas Speedway will not earn bonus points toward the accumulated aggregate driver points total after the completion of the first 26 events of the current season and will not be credited towards the eligibility for a driver Wild Card position.

BenRacing rules for Points issued are:
Drivers are awarded points for their finishing position as well as bonus points for winning the pole, leading a lap and most laps lead.  The points for each driver are added up giving each team their weekly score.

NASCAR's ruling does not affect anything in the BenRacing scoring rules.  Kenseth won the race, started first and had the most laps and that is what our scoring is based on.  Penalties issued after official race results do not affect our scoring.
